Testing for HIV, Hepatitis C and/or Syphilis

The APPROACH Study is a research study looking at ways to provide sexually transmissible and blood-borne infection testing in community pharmacies.

APPROACH study participants are offered a choice of screening tests for HIV, hepatitis C and/or syphilis. You choose which test(s) you want.

Testing is free of charge and is completed by using a few drops of blood.

Referrals are not required for any of these tests.

Who should be tested?

HIV, Hepatitis C and syphilis are spread through sex and/or contact with blood (e.g. sharing needles, razors, toothbrushes) that contains the virus or bacteria.

Anyone can get these infections - they do not discriminate. So if you don’t know your status, you should get tested.

Eligibility

If you are aged 18 years or older, can understand English, and have a provincial health card number you are eligible to participate
